Just like a real-life furnace, it allows you to smelt items during the game. But before you start smelting various items, you need to build a Blast Furnace first. This guide explains everything about making a blast furnace in Minecraft. Read on for the details!

Unfortunately, Blast Furnace is not available on all gaming options and consoles. Check out the below image for a complete list of supported platforms.

Where to find Blast Furnace Minecraft in the creative mode

On all supported gaming platforms, when playing in the creative mode, you can find Blast Furnace in the “items” option located in the “Creative Inventory Menu.” However, if you are playing the Java Edition on either Mac or Windows or playing it on the PS4, go to “Decoration Blocks” or “Miscellaneous” option respectively to f.

Materials Required

To make a Blast Furnace, you will need three Smooth stones, five Iron Ingots, and one Furnace.

Crafting Blast Furnace in Survival Mode

Step 1: First of all, open the crafting table with a 3×3 grid.

Step 2: Now, in the crafting menu, you should see a crafting 3×3 crafting area. To start making the Blast Furnace, place all the materials mentioned above in the crafting grid. Here’s when things get slightly tricky. When crafting a Blast Furnace, it is imperative that you place all the materials in the exact pattern, as shown in the image below. That is, the central block should contain the Furnace, the three smooth stones be placed in the last row, and the rest should be filled with the five iron ingots.  This is your recipe for making a blast furnace in Minecraft.

Once you have put all the items in their rightful place, a blast furnace will appear in the right hand box on the screen.

Step3: Before you can start using the newly crafted item, you need to move it to the inventory. Click and drag it to move to the inventory. Congratulations! You successfully created a blast furnace in Minecraft.

You can use a blast furnace for smelting Ores, Armor, weapons, tools, and other items. In fact, it smelts ores at twice the speed of an ordinary furnace. However, don’t expect to cook food in the blast furnace. Similarly, cooking wood in the blast furnace is also a bad idea. You will need the ordinary Furnace to cook food or make charcoal.

An important thing to keep in mind is that just like smokers, you cannot push a blast furnace with the help of pistons. When active, it emits level 13 light and has a blast resistance of 17.5, just like the regular furnaces in the game. Lastly, it can also interact with hoppers.

Give Command

In the Java Edition (Mac & PC) 1.14, 1.15 or 1.16, the /give command for a Blast Furnace is /give @p blast_furnace 1. The rest of the supported platforms, use /give @p blast_furnace 1 0
